Yet another weekend-long party in Berlin. Actually it was happening for years, but only now I decided to check what’s happening outside Berghain. And to be honest - this is a great alternative!
I would call it a queer event, not only gay. Which is great! Must be the only place in Berlin for colorful personalities. Wear colors and glitter - it’s not Berghain! Still it’s pretty basic - this party is definitely more about cocks, less about cocktails. You shouldn’t even ask for that cocktail - get the bottle of beer and bring extras. Everything is very hipster basic - typical for Berlin.
D’amore is not in French - it’s in Italian - learn how to pronounce it before you go there. But keep in mind it’s not really about love, unless you count the love for cocktails (I mean beer), or just cock. They do have the outdoor maze (also super basic) - get there for a chat in the daytime and get some action at night. Of course all that happens 24/7 in the bathrooms upstairs too. Get ready to wait in a line for a looong time.
Although it’s a weekend party, the most fun is having a Sunday tea dance there. Dancing in the daylight, hanging out in the huge backyard near the river, or even playing basketball or football - choose what you like the most. Not sure what they do in winter (which lasts for 8 months there).
There’s a myth about the face control, I heard rumors about people being rejected, but haven’t seen that myself, so you shouldn’t worry too much, especially if you have that pet called Cock. There were scandals in the community about girls being rejected, but oh well - stuff happens.
Check when is the next one int heir Facebook group before booking your cheap flights. It’s also fun to follow that group simply for the cock’jokes they share.
