MENERGY - SHIRTLESS MEN IN THE CLOUD OF POPPERS
Every time I do the research on Paris night life I hear various opinions on what’s best for that night, but this time - everybody said the same - it’s the night of MENERGY.
Knowing the drink prices (and that sometimes they include 5 drops or less of alcohol) in Paris, we got a few drinks at home and on the street. Finally came to GIBUS, the club that is hosting mostly gay parties. After 1 am there was no line - looked like it’s gonna be another disappointment. However, the club was packed! Those boys start early!
From the party promos we were expecting rather fetish scene - however it wasn’t. At the entrance we could see close to zero harnesses, zero leather, couple guys in the sportswear. Most of the guys were shirtless - which is totally fine! I love this classy Parisian fetish, they never go too extreme. The only weird thing - there was a huge add for poppers at the cloakroom - yes they are legal and being sold in the nightclub!
The club was absolutely packed - I believe such thing as capacity doesn’t exist in this country. Dancing was basically impossible, it took a while to find a spot where we could slightly move and you know - breath… Every single person was using poppers. If you go there - do not buy any - you will be inhaling them either you want it or not… for the whole night!
The first part of the party was pretty miserable - dancing in the tin of sardines, too much poppers made it impossible to enjoy it. At one moment I literally had to run outside, to the smoking area for some fresh air as I was about to faint. It hardly helped with all the French boys smoking like chimneys.
It took a while till the dance floor was not that packed anymore and I could dance! Yay! The boys were in their thirties and forties, shirtless (as mentioned before). Even though the party is targeted more for otters and bears - you could see the boys of all types - it was great! Plus finally - a pretty good electro music (no circuit)! In the end, the night was great! Probably the only party in Paris that is good every single time. Less extreme than any other shirtless gay parties in other countries. I only wish people were more connecting on the dance floor. My general conclusion about Parisians - they love to talk and they are fun to chat with anywhere besides the dance floor, where they tend to simply dance or stay in groups.
